This video covers the OVERWORLD PART 2 - mining from LEVEL ZERO to BEDROCK.
In Part 1 I craft a wooden pickaxe, mine enough stone to make a stone pickaxe and then carry on until I get some iron ore for an iron pickaxe. I craft the iron pickaxe, but save it for mining the diamonds I'm seeking.
In Part 2 we carry on mining toward bedrock, making some interesting discoveries along the way. Eventually I have enough iron to speed up the mining with iron pickaxes.
In the den I hang up each type of pickaxe as a memento and at the end I want to have every kind of pickaxe up on the wall (except gold - although I might add one at the end just for fun. I never use gold for mining - the picks wear out too fast and stone is stronger and more plentiful).
I start with an empty furnace; a chest; a crafting table; and a bed ... oh and 64 torches and 64 slices of watermelon ... no armour ...no weapons ... nothing. I want to emulate starting a new survival world and going straight for the prize ... a DIAMOND PICKAXE.
With a diamond pickaxe you can mine obsidian for a nether portal to reach the nether, but more importantly, you need it to mine ancient debris in the Netherworld to be able to craft a NETHERITE PICKAXE, which will be the subject of the final video in this series.
