We provide unbiased scientific data to government, industry and non-governmental organizations to facilitate informed decision-making about the use of chemicals in consumer products. We encourage scientists to use their research in the public interest. Initially, we focused on reducing the use of unnecessary flame retardants due to their adverse impacts on human and environmental health. Building on the success of flame retardant reduction, we have expanded our efforts to the Six Classes Challenge, which aims to decrease the use of entire classes of harmful chemicals in everyday products by 50% over five years. Applying this visionary approach, major businesses are already beginning to meet the challenge.
