To stem the tidal wave of accidental drowning occurring worldwide, Reach and Rescue self-developed long-reach telescopic water rescue poles that are the only one of their kind worldwide – and they are saving lives in 48 countries.
The poles enable emergency services and search and rescue teams to conduct swift, directionally accurate rescues by retrieving casualties from safe distances minimising the danger posed to themselves whilst also boosting casualty survival chances. Without Reach and Rescue’s long-reach telescopic rescue poles – the World’s longest at up to 20m – rescuers would need to dive into water in an attempt to save a life in danger therefore putting themselves at extreme risk. To date, our long-reach telescopic rescue poles have prevented the deaths of 50+ people during potentially life-threatening situations. Presently, the pole is used by 80% of UK Fire and Rescue services, with workers in multiple industries from maritime, military and construction using the pole.
