Welcome to Père Murray's Legacy YouTube channel! Over 100 years ago, Athol (Père) Murray brought a bold dream to life in an improbable place - Wilcox, Saskatchewan. Opened as Notre Dame of the Prairies in 1920 by the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis, and followed by the arrival of Père in 1927, the story of one of Canada’s most remarkable and celebrated educational institutions began.
Today, Athol Murray College of Notre Dame ranks among Canada's most successful boarding high schools. Notre Dame has but one purpose: to develop young people to be of keen mind, fit body and steadfast character who are who are uniquely prepared to succeed and lead in work and community life.
Père’s dream was to nurture potential and inspire students to develop the special “Notre Dame factor” they exhibit in every challenge, relationship and opportunity in their lives. It is a dream Notre Dame proudly continues.
“Dream a dream, make it a great dream and dream it greatly.”
