The International Society for Geographical and Epidemiological Ophthalmology was established in 1970 to promote research and learning across eye professionals internationally.

Today, ISGEO enhances access to research, research skills and collaborations among the growing number of professionals at the intersection of public health and eye health.

ISGEO Congresses held in 18 countries to date offer scientific talks based on peer-reviewed publications and discussion of issues faced by researchers.

The ISGEO-related journal, Ophthalmic Epidemiology, is dedicated to the publication of original research into eye and vision health in the fields of epidemiology, public health and the prevention of blindness.
