Webinar context:
The Geography of Sustainability Transitions (GeoST) is a quickly evolving research theme at the interface of transition studies and human geography. This online event explores the current state of the art and identifies promising future research themes that expand ongoing dialogues between the transitions and geography communities.
The series brings together scholars from both fields that are exploring salient conceptual and theoretical interfaces, as well as illustrative empirical case studies. Each webinar features a ‘mini-keynote’ lecture, followed by a discussant and Q&A, intended to initiate an open and inclusive debate about what the GeoST field is all about and where it may be heading in the future.
This first webinar series will serve as a kick-off event for organizing follow-up webinars, special sessions at transitions and geography conferences, as well as for the foundation of a new STRN thematic group on the Geography of Sustainability Transitions.
