Long before the genre of 'conservation photography' was conceived, Art Wolfe was practicing it. His photography career has spanned five decades, during which he has worked on every continent, in hundreds of locations, and on a dazzling array of projects. His unique approach to photography is based on his training in the arts and his passionate advocacy for the environment and indigenous culture. Since 1989 he has published over eighty books, selling over 500,000 copies in eight languages. His work has been featured in traveling exhibits and in numerous galleries. Wolfe is on public television with the award-winning series Art Wolfe's Travels to the Edge. It is now seen in more than 70 countries worldwide. Wolfe is the proud recipient of the Photographic Society of America's Progress Medal, the coveted Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award, and Outstanding Nature Photographer of the Year by the North American Nature Photography Association.
