Why GetMeOuttahere?
When I graduated college nearly 15 years ago (2010) in the midst of the recession I was having a hard time finding full time employment and mixed feelings about what I wanted to do with my life. Living in rural Iowa at the time, I found that getting out of the house and exploring nearby state parks and county museums filled me with positivity, introduced me to fascinating people, and motivated me to be more productive in life.

I created the phrase Get Me Outta Here as an expression to get out of the house. You don't need to travel around the world to discover fascinating people and places, these features are all around you in your own backyard.

Perhaps some of these places will motivate you to get out of your house and explore the history and culture around you.
