Life is Newcastle upon Tyne's award-winning science centre with exhibitions, special events, Science Theatre shows and the biggest and best planetarium in the North of England. From November - February we're also home to Newcastle city centre's only open air ice rink, and all year round we run a varied programme of special events for all ages from pre-schoolers to adults.

The Life Science Centre is part of the Centre for Life science village - a cutting-edge place in the centre of Newcastle where scientists, clinicians, educationalists and business people come together to promote advancement of the life sciences.

Life is an educational charity; we do not receive public funding. We aim to get people of all ages switched on to science and to raise standards in science education. We also support the world-class scientific research which is being carried out on site. We couldn't do this without the support of our visitors, so THANK YOU.
